definition

JCOE Process:
JCOE is the abbreviation of "J-C-O-expanding" (J-C-O-expanding), which is a process of forming steel plates in the order of J, C and O, and then pre-welding, internal and external final welding and Expanding.

UOE Process:
UOE is the abbreviation of "U-O-expanding" (U-O-expanding), which is a process of pressing steel plates into a U shape, then bending them into an O shape, and then performing pre-welding, internal and external final welding and Expanding.

Technological difference

JCOE process
1. Forming sequence: The JCOE process is to form the steel plate in the order of J-C-O.
2. Welding and expanding: gas shielded welding is used for pre-welding after the joint of the steel pipe, and then submerged arc welding is used for internal and external final welding, and finally the segmented mechanical expanding process is used for cold expanding the whole pipe body.
3. Cost and adaptability: JCOE process cost is relatively low, process adaptability is strong, forming mold wear is small, and forming mold light.
4. Processing efficiency: Due to multiple molding, compared with the UOE process, the processing efficiency is low, but the mold is less and the equipment investment is low.
5. Dimensional accuracy: Due to the multi-step pressing of JCO, the dimensional accuracy of the steel pipe is lower than that of UOE, so UOE steel pipe is used in the ocean pipeline.

UOE process
1. Forming process: The UOE forming process first needs to process the edge of the steel plate bevel, flatten and bend the edge, and then press into U shape by the forming machine, and then bend into O shape.
2. Welding and expanding: After the joint of the steel pipe, the gas shielded welding is used for pre-welding, and then the submerged arc welding is used for internal and external final welding. Finally, the segmented mechanical expanding process is used for cold expanding of the whole pipe body.
3. Production characteristics: UOE molding technology is mature, reliable, good product quality, variety specifications, high output.
4. Equipment and investment: UOE equipment is larger than spiral welded pipe unit, and the investment cost is high.
5. Weld length: The weld length of the steel pipe under the same length is only half of the spiral weld, and the probability of defects in the weld is less.

Differential summary
Cost and investment: JCOE process cost is lower and equipment investment is less, while UOE process equipment is larger and investment cost is high.
Production efficiency: The JCOE process has low processing efficiency, while the UOE process has high yield.
Dimensional accuracy: The dimensional accuracy of steel pipe produced by UOE process is higher than that of JCOE process.
Scope of application: UOE steel pipe due to high dimensional accuracy, mostly used in Marine pipelines and other demanding occasions.

Application scenario

JCOE Process:

Suitable for the production of large caliber, thick wall steel pipe, especially suitable for the manufacture of large wall thickness pipe.

Because of its relatively low cost, strong process adaptability, small mold wear, and light molding mold, it is widely used in China.

UOE Process:

Suitable for the production of large diameter, thick wall steel pipes, especially for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality.

Due to the high dimensional accuracy of steel pipes produced by the UOE process, UOE steel pipes are often used in offshore pipelines.

Comparison of advantages and disadvantages

JOCE

JCOE process benefits:

1. The cost is relatively low and the equipment investment is less.

2. Strong process adaptability, suitable for the production of a variety of specifications of steel pipe.

3. The mold wear is small, the mold is light and easy to operate.

JCOE process disadvantages:

1. Due to multiple molding, the processing efficiency is low compared to the UOE process.

2. The dimensional accuracy of the steel pipe is lower than UOE, so it may not be applicable in applications requiring high dimensional accuracy

UOE

UOE process benefits:

1. The steel pipe produced has high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality.

2. Can produce thick wall steel pipe, the maximum wall thickness of up to 40mm.

3. The weld length of the steel pipe under the same length is only half of the spiral weld, and the probability of defects in the weld is less.

UOE process disadvantages:

1. The equipment is larger than the spiral welded pipe unit and the investment cost is high.

2. The energy consumption is large, because the force required to become U directly is larger than JCOE.

Summary:
JCOE and UOE processes each have advantages and limitations, and the choice of process depends on the specific application needs, cost budget, and productivity requirements. The JCOE process has advantages in terms of cost and adaptability, while the UOE process performs better in terms of dimensional accuracy and surface quality. In actual production, the most appropriate production process needs to be selected according to the specific requirements of the product and market positioning.
