T-shaped steel is a type of steel with a T-shaped cross-section and is named for its cross-section shape.

T-shaped steel
  •  Definition of T-Shapd steel

T-shaped steel is a type of steel cast into the T shape, because its section and the English letter "T" the same name. T-shaped steel can be divided into two categories: hot-rolled T-shaped steel and welded T-shaped steel. Hot rolled T-shaped steel is directly rolled on the rolling mill after high temperature heating. It has the characteristics of compact structure, smooth surface and good mechanical properties. The welded T-shaped steel is to connect the flange plate and the web through the welding process, which is high flexibility and can be customized according to the needs of the size.

    Application

  • Application of T-Shapd steel

    1. Construction field: T-shaped steel is often used as building structural materials, such as beams, columns, piers, roof supports and other components, bearing the role of the building's own weight and external loads.

    2. Bridge construction: T-shaped steel is also widely used in bridge construction, as a component of the bridge main beam, bearing the role of the bridge's own weight and vehicle driving load.

    3. Mechanical manufacturing: In the field of mechanical manufacturing, T-shaped steel can be used to make mechanical bases, mechanical parts, worktables, machine tool slides and other components.

    4. Ship construction: T-shaped steel is also used in ship construction to manufacture load-bearing structures such as beams and longitudinal beams in ship structures.

    5. Petrochemical field: T-shaped steel is used in the petrochemical field to manufacture various pressure vessels, pipelines and other equipment, because it has good corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance.

Specification:

There are many specifications and models of T-shaped steel, mainly according to its flange width, web thickness and total height. Here are some common specifications:

T-shaped steel TM272×300×11×15

T-shaped steel TM275×300×11×18

T-shaped steel TM291×300×12×17

T-shaped steel TM294×300×12×20

T-shaped steel TN50×50×5×7

T-shaped steel TN62.5×60×6×8

What are the manufacturing processes of T-shaped steel?

1. Hot-rolled T-shaped steel: After the billet is heated, it is rolled through the rolling mill. This process in China is mainly limited to the production of small specifications of T-shaped steel below 100mm×100mm.

2. Cutting T-shaped steel: cutting H-shaped steel through finished products, this process is more common in China.

3. Cold drawing T-shaped steel: The use of cold drawing equipment to draw billets into T-shaped steel, the surface is smooth and high precision, usually used to draw large specifications of steel into small specifications of T-shaped steel, the range is generally within 100mm×100mm.

4. Welding T-shaped steel: The use of steel plate joint welding, welding process is divided into two kinds, for the plate thickness of less than 10mm choose high-frequency welding, and more than 10mm submerged arc welding is generally used.

5. Precision forming and processing technology: including cold bending, hot bending and extrusion. Cold bending is to change the shape by cold working without changing the properties of the material; Hot bending is the bending of T-shaped steel after heating to a certain temperature, using the high temperature plasticity of the material to form the required shape; Extrusion is to place T-shaped steel in an extruder and deform it through extrusion pressure.

6. Continuous casting process: the high temperature molten steel is continuously cast into the required shape and specifications, and the temperature and chemical composition of the molten steel need to be adjusted to meet the requirements of the subsequent rolling process.

7. Rolling process: The preliminary forming of the T-shaped billet is processed into the required shape and specification, which requires multiple passes of rolling and straightening to ensure the flatness and geometric size of the T-shaped steel.

8. Heat treatment process: Adjust the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of T-shaped steel, which is one of the important links in production.
