Coating Thickness: 350-500μm ( Tolerance: +/-5% )

The coating thickness shall be measured at three random locations along each pipe length using a coating thickness gauge that is calibrated at least once every working shift (to a maximum of 12h) against a thickness standard that is within +/-20% of the nominal coating thickness specified in the purchase order.

If individual measured thickness values are less than 350 μm, the coating thickness of the affected pipes shall be measured along the pipe length at intervals not exceeding 1 m. The average of such measured values for each pipe shall be at least 350 μm and no individual value shall be less than 300 μm.

Cathodic Protection: FBE coated steel pipes are suitable for additional protection by means of Cathodic Protection. 

FBE Cutback: The cutback length and tolerances for the FBE coating on both ends of the pipes shall be as specified in the purchase order.
