Description: PPGI

With GI as base metal, after pretreatment(degrease and chemical treatment) and liquid dope with several layers of color, then after firing and cooling, finally the plate steel is called pre-painted galvanized steel(PPGI). Pre-painted galvanized steel is good capable of decoration, molding, corrosion resistance.

Chemical content: 

Zinc is one of the most important chemical trace elements in pre painted galvanized steel coils, and its content should usually be greater than or equal to 99.5%. In addition, the content of other trace elements should generally be within a reasonable range, such as silicon, iron, aluminum, copper, etc. The content should be controlled while ensuring the strength and corrosion resistance of the steel coil.

Processing process:

 1. The processing process of pre-painted galvanized steel coil starts with the cleaning of the galvanized steel substrate. The substrate is cleaned to remove any dirt, oil, and other contaminants. This is important for the paint adhesion to the substrate.

 2. After cleaning, the substrate is treated with a chemical solution to enhance its corrosion resistance and improve the paint's adhesion. This process is called chromating. During chromating, the substrate is immersed in a solution of chromic acid and other chemicals.

 3.The next step is the application of a primer layer. The primer layer helps to improve the paint's adhesion to the substrate and offers additional corrosion protection. The primer is applied to the substrate using a roller or spray.

 4. After the primer, the pre-painted galvanized steel coil undergoes a curing process. The curing process allows the primer to dry and harden. The curing process is usually done in a specialized oven, and the length of time depends on the specific type of primer and curing temperature.

 5. Once the primer has cured, the topcoat is applied. The topcoat is the final layer of the pre-painted galvanized steel coil. It provides a decorative finish and offers additional corrosion protection. The topcoat is applied using a roller or spray.

 6. After the topcoat has been applied, the pre-painted galvanized steel coil undergoes a final curing process to harden the topcoat and bond it to the primer. This curing process can take several hours, depending on the type of coating and the curing temperature.
